Home from Home Childminding - Childcare in a loving environment that's just like being at home

What I can offer:

There are many reasons why I feel childminding is a beneficial environment. The most important is the personal touch that you receive from me. It can be a worrying time for you as parents placing your child with a carer and you must feel completely happy with your decision.                Sometimes, one meeting is not enough to get to know somebody well enough to make this decision, and when you do, you may well worry that your child will not take to a virtual stranger straight away. It is for this reason that, if necessary and requested by the parents,  I will work with you and your child to ensure that they are happy and settled in my company before the contract begins. This can involve regular meetings at either house, one to one play time while you are present, and then building up to leave your child for short periods. This way, you, as a parent have left all your anxieties behind and they are not passed on to your child.

I work with an assistant to ensure we I can easily meet the needs of your child and work with the daily patterns already set by you, ie sleeping in an afternoon. This also means that your child receives lots of individual attention and a care provision created specifically for them. All resources are of good quality and appropriate for the children's age group and these are always added to so that children are continually engaged in what they do.
As a childminder I can offer you and your child stability knowing that there is the consistency of care. A good working relationship can develop between us and grow with your child’s care.

I can also offer a flexible service. Sometimes a parent’s work demands more than the 9-5 hours. There are occasions when later pickups are required and sometimes there is the need for care over the weekend.

The final reason is that your child has the chance to learn from real life experiences. There is nothing like the hands on approach to stimulate a child’s learning. Cooking, gardening, shopping, outings to libraries, farms etc all help to develop social and language skills in addition to basic maths, science and their own unique place in the local community.Whilst in my care, your child will be treated as a unique individual with their own needs, given respect, love and a stimulating environment in which to grow and develop.

Working with you as parents:

I am dedicated to using every resource available to enhance your child’s care and make it the best it could possibly be and there is no greater resource than what I can learn from you as parents. The information you provide will make the transition from parent-care to child-care so much easier and provide your child with the consistency of care already received from you. You know what your child likes, dislikes, is afraid of etc. My intention is also to make you feel happier knowing that your child is following your routines and not mine. There are also many additional practical issues that I will need to consult with you, i.e. medical, allergies, all of which will be treated in the strictest confidence and discussed if you wish me to care for your child. Copies of policies and procedures for these and all other issues are available on request. You child’s progress is of paramount importance to me and for this reason I will make regular observations to enable a detailed, continual profile to be created. This is so that I can determine what activities to plan to benefit your child and make learning stimulating and challenging. It also enables you to see exactly how your child has developed over any given time in my care.I will ensure that I am always available to discuss any issues /concerns you may have. I am also happy to arrange a specific time every week that is dedicated to talking to you about your child.

 Resources:

I offer a safe and secure environment where children can play in the large downstairs rooms and make themselves at home. With the addition of a new playroom, the children can spread their play wherever they feel most comfortable.
There is also a large kitchen which is ideal for those children who would like to learn to bake and help with some cooking.

Sleeps can be taken on the settees, in bouncers, chairs, playmats or cot during the day. Whatever your child’s routine, I will endeavour to continue it.

My house is also only a minute's walk away from a lovely large park which has safety swings, a small roundabout, slides and climbing equipment to keep them entertained.
